WHO WE ARE:
The Department of Washington is one of five departments that comprise the Northwest Division of the Marine Corps League. In addition to Washington the other departments are Alaska, Idaho, Montana and Oregon.
The Department is made up of eighteen detachments covering virtually all corners of the state. The department meets three times a year, twice in staff meetings and once during its annual convention.
The Spring and Fall Staff Meetings are held in Yakima in order to make travel issues as fair as possible for all members of the department. The Spring Staff Meeting is generally held in March and the Fall Staff Meeting is normally in October.
The annual convention is held in various locations around the state depending upon which detachment has bid on hosting the convention; generally speaking the department tries to alternate the convention between the two sides of the state, but this does not always take place. The Convention is generally in June.
Like all departments, Washington's membership covers the entire gamut of MOSes and eras. Members represent virtually all the divisions (1st through 6th), ground and air, China Marines to currently serving Marines. Officers, Warrant Officers and enlisted members of all pay grades are represented in our current membership.
